The Origin Revealed

According to Steven Hager, editor of High Times, the term 420 originated at San Rafael High School, in 1971, among a group of about a dozen pot-smoking wiseacres who called themselves the Waldos, who are now pushing 50. The term was shorthand for the time of day the group would meet, at the campus statue of Louis Pasteur, to smoke pot. Intent on developing their own discreet language, they made 420 code for a time to get high, and its use spread among members of an entire generation. A quote from one of the Waldos in the High Times article states, “We did discover we could talk about getting high in front of our parents without them knowing by using the phrase 420.”

Whatever!

Simply put, 420 is a symbol of cannabis and its culture. Today, April 20th events are international, and 4:20 pm has become sort of a world wide “burn time”.

I just read a post on TPB.ORG from Trevor himself stating he has called it quits after 6 seasons in the Park. The show will not be the same without him. We at TPBusa.com wish him the best, and lots of luck on his future endeavors…now where is Ricky gonna get his smokes? 

ORIGINAL POST FROM TPB.ORG (Aug 04, 2005): i just wanted to let all of the great tpb fans here at the .org know that i will not be returning to tpb after this summer.  while it has been a somewhat enjoyable experience to be part of a somewhat successful canadian television show, i feel that i have given all i can give to this project and it is time for me to get on with my life.  thanks for supporting me for the past 6 years and a special thanks to all the nice people who have taken the time to message and email me throughout the years. thanks for the good times. you gotta know when to go. over and out.
